A CDL with school bus endorsement is preferred, but not required. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to obtain a CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements within a specified training period. Training assistance is provided.
Whether you're an early riser or a night owl, we have many opportunities available. A "typical" work day varies greatly based on the customer's needs. Most school athletic trips are in the evenings (2p-10p). There are times where trips are mid-day (9a-2p) and depending on distance, may leave early in the morning or return late at night.
About us: We are a small school bus company, established in early 2023. At J & J Transit, our focus is on athletics and other school related charter work, with additional hours available for non-school charters, such as weddings and other private events.
The Company does not guarantee full or part time work. Work hours may vary and are scheduled based on the needs of the school district(s) and/or customer(s). Availability of work is also subject to seasonal demand. Fall sports typically run from September through October, winter sports from December through February, and spring sports from mid-April through mid-June. Summer work opportunities may be available and typically include weddings, event shuttles, and summer camps.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background checks, motor vehicle record review, DOT physical, and drug/alcohol testing in accordance with state and federal regulations.
This position requires the ability to safely operate a school bus, assist passengers as needed, remain seated for extended periods, and meet all physical requirements mandated by DOT regulations, with reasonable accommodations provided where applicable.
